The practice of acupuncture is not only for the rich and famous. This traditional medicine has a long history of being easily accessible, affordable, and wonderfully effective for all types of conditions.
At our office, community acupuncture is practiced on Saturday mornings in a group setting where several treatment tables are in the same room. If you are new to acupuncture, this treatment style allows you to be treated alongside friends and family. Additionally, this model allows for affordable treatments so you can enjoy acupuncture more often and experience quicker results. You are welcome to participate in community acupuncture starting on your second visit. Initial appointments will be scheduled outside of this time.
For your first visit, please download and fill out a copy of the Acupuncture Consultation Form from our website to bring with you. I will review your health history and current reason for your visit. Based on this information, I will develop a treatment plan that best suits your needs.
Please wear loose fitting clothing which allows access to your arms and legs. You will be needled with approximately 5-20 very thin, sterilized, one-time-use, disposable needles. You should not experience any sharp pain.
During acupuncture treatments, it is common to become very relaxed and sometimes fall asleep. Prior to your treatment, please tell me if you have to leave by a certain time. At the end of your treatment, I will remove the needles and make recommendations for homecare maintenance between treatments.
In general, the longer you have been experiencing a condition or complaint, the longer it takes to resolve. Remember we are not just treating symptoms; we are treating the root of the problem. Over the course of treatments, your body will begin to rebalance and relearn how to be healthy.
